Abstract

Business Wales provides a first class business support service to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) located in Wales on behalf of the Welsh Government, funded by the European Regional Development Fund. This service is delivered by Growth Partnership Wales, a partnership of Business in Focus, Antur Teifi and Serco. Superfast Business Wales is a service element of Business Wales supporting eligible businesses across Wales to understand, adopt and exploit the benefits of Superfast Broadband. Serco ESE is looking to select a group of Specialists to support the existing business advisory team deliver one-to-one interventions with business clients. Activities will include: - Support small and medium sized businesses to commercially exploit new technologies enabled by superfast broadband - Work with new and established businesses on a one-to-one basis to develop a specific ICT diagnostic and action plan, the focus on helping small and medium sized enterprises which have growth or growth potential to maximise the impact of superfast enabled technologies - Field based working one-to-one with the business - Conduct an ICT diagnostic, examine in detail the elements and requirements of the business in order to identify opportunities for growth with specific reference to the effective use of ICT - Work with businesses to overcome barriers during the implementation of their action plan in order to sustain momentum towards the agreed goals - Accurately complete actions plans and related paperwork, ensuring support hours are delivered and documented The associated time required per intervention will be 7 hours inclusive of: - Preparation time, desktop research of business and review of Inspiring Action Workshop actions - Travel to and from the meeting location - One-to-one client meeting at an agreed location, typically two hours at the client’s site - Write up of workbook and action plan and completion of paperwork - Full written report completed, sent to the SFBW Business Advisor Team Leader and once approved sent to business beneficiary - Follow up call with the business beneficiary, circa 20 minutes to ensure progress is being made - To record, document and store all activity on the ICT systems provided - To ensure all evidence of activity is available for compliance checks The required activity is expected to commence in May 2017 for twelve months, although may be extended if required. Around 100 interventions are expected to be required but this is reliant on demand. The locations to be covered will be North, Mid and South Wales. Desk space and meeting rooms are available at the Superfast Business Wales offices at St Asaph, Newtown, Bridgend and Carmarthen if required. Serco will contract with the successful suppliers (contract terms and conditions are included with the documentation on Sell2Wales), for the twelve month period, subject to available funding and performance reviews. There will be no value attached to the contract awarded as it will be business led and individual work packages will be agreed.

Additional Information

Every successful organisation will be required to sign up to the Serco Code of Conduct, a copy of which is available with the Preferred Supplier Application. In addition, each successful organisation will receive a contract from Serco and the terms and conditions are also available with the Preferred Supplier Application. Any queries with the content of the terms and conditions must be raised prior to submitting the Application.Should Serco be required to sign any agreement or paperwork if you were successful, then the details must be supplied as part of your Application.The deadline for clarification questions is 13:00 on 29 March 2017.
